The Salvador SuperPush 250 is a fully automatic programmable crosscut saw designed for higher-volume solid wood cutting, optimisation and defecting. Developed for industrial production environments, the SuperPush 250 combines automatic chain loading, length measuring, optimisation software, defect recognition, high-speed positioning and enclosed crosscutting in one robust production machine.
It is particularly suited to manufacturers who need to process timber efficiently with reduced manual handling, improved yield and consistent repeatable output. Typical users include saw mills and timber merchants, outdoor furniture manufacturers, timber frame building manufacturers, pallet, case and packaging manufacturers and other businesses crosscutting high volumes of solid wood into repeatable finished lengths.
A key difference between the SuperPush 250 and the SuperPush 200 programmable crosscut saw is its automatic chain loading system. Material is placed onto the infeed chains, allowing the machine to feed and process timber with less operator intervention making it the ideal partner for industrial applications or integration into automatic lines, with chain loading as standard and a wide range of unloading solutions available for connection to stackers, handling systems, transfer equipment or other production processes.
At the heart of the machine is Salvador’s S4U software and numerical control system, developed to make automatic crosscutting easier to manage, monitor and optimise. The software allows operators to control cutting lists, quality grades, priorities, trim cuts, waste percentage and other programme-specific parameters. Cutting lists can be entered directly at the machine or prepared externally, helping production teams reduce manual measuring, marking and stop-based cutting.
The control system gives the operator clear visibility of cutting lists, machine status, diagnostics and production data. The priced specification describes a Windows-based control system with a colour screen, external USB connection, remote tele-service, Excel macro import and management of five quality grades. This allows the SuperPush 250 to support both repeat production and varied cutting requirements where timber quality, length recovery and throughput are important.
The Salvador SuperPush 250 is designed to make better use of timber. The machine uses Salvador’s Total Optic reading system to scan the material, read board length and detect luminescent defect marks. The infeed pusher is managed by the machine computer and numerical control system. A brushless servo motor drives the pusher carriage through a high-precision toothed belt, running on hardened and rectified guides for long service life, accurate positioning and reduced maintenance. The pusher carriage is built for demanding production use, with a substantial structure designed for fast, precise positioning with minimal wear.
The SuperPush 250 is built around a robust reinforced steel structure. The automatic loading system uses multiple chain supports, with the chain system designed to lift and lower during the loading cycle. In the priced specification, the chain loading system is described as using strong steel structures supporting the loading chains, with a net loading area of 1500 mm and independent loading cells available for singularising timber during feed. This makes the machine well suited to more continuous production processes where the operator needs to keep material moving efficiently into the saw.
The cutting unit is designed for accuracy, safety and adaptability. The machine can be configured with 500 mm or 550 mm sawblades, blade motor powers including 5.5 kW, 7.5 kW or 11 kW, and cutting capacities to suit the required application. The SuperPush 250 has a standard pusher speed of 60 m/min, with 120 m/min or 180 m/min available depending on version, and pusher positioning accuracy of +/- 0.5 mm, with +/- 0.1 mm available as an option.
Cutting time can be adjusted to suit the material, with the workpiece held securely by an intelligent pneumatic pressure beam. The pressure beam automatically adjusts its movement according to the timber thickness, helping reduce unnecessary movement and improve cycle efficiency. Two electro-pneumatic alignment pushers, positioned before and after the blade, help maintain accurate squaring and stable positioning during cutting.
Further productivity options can be added to suit the required production flow. These include faster reading and pushing speeds, outfeed length selectors, additional ejectors, waste trap door, waste conveyor, second outfeed screen, label printing, inkjet marking, cartridge printing, mirror feed direction, automatic outfeed ejection and heavy-duty pack handling options. The full options list also includes RPM software for Industry 4.0 data collection, remote assistance hardware, nylon chains for delicate surfaces, touch screen control and heavy-duty outfeed length selector options for pack ejection.
For customers requiring higher levels of automation, the SuperPush 250 can be specified with outfeed length selection and automatic sorting. The outfeed selector can divide cut pieces by measurement, quality, recovery or waste, with physical and virtual ejectors available depending on the application. This allows the machine to operate not just as a saw, but as part of a more complete cutting, sorting and production control process.
