ESG & Responsible Business

Cornerstone of our business

As a fourth-generation family business, Daltons takes a long-term view of its responsibilities to customers, employees, partners and the environment. Our approach to environmental, social and governance (ESG) matters is practical, standards-led and embedded in how we operate day to day.

We believe responsible business means operating safely, ethically and sustainably, while supporting customers with reliable machinery, training and long-term technical support.

Environmental responsibility

Daltons is committed to managing its environmental impact responsibly and supporting customers in adopting efficient, modern manufacturing technologies.

Our environmental approach is guided by ISO 14001 and focuses on continuous improvement across our operations. This includes responsible use of energy and resources, reducing waste where possible, and extending the working life of machinery through rebuilds, upgrades and preventative maintenance.

By supplying modern, efficient machinery and supporting customers with refurbishment and upgrade solutions, we help reduce unnecessary waste and improve long-term operational efficiency across manufacturing environments.

Social responsibility

People and safety are central to everything we do. Daltons works to protect the wellbeing of employees, customers and machine operators, while supporting skills development across industry and education.

Health and safety is managed under ISO 45001, with clear procedures, training and safe systems of work for our engineers and support teams. We regularly work in environments where safety is critical, including education, public sector and regulated industries.

As an IOSH Approved Training Provider and PIABC Quality Assured organisation, we deliver certificated operator training that helps raise standards, improve competence and reduce risk. Training is delivered by experienced machinists with formal teaching and assessing qualifications.

Daltons is also proud to be Disability Confident Committed, supporting inclusive working practices and fair access to employment.

Governance

Strong governance underpins the long-term sustainability of our business and the service we provide to customers.

Our quality management systems are certified to ISO 9001, ensuring consistency, accountability and continuous improvement across all areas of operation. We maintain clear processes for customer service, supplier management, engineering support and training delivery.

Daltons works with long-standing European manufacturing partners, many on an exclusive basis, selected for their engineering quality, ethical standards and long-term commitment to customers.

Data protection and cyber security are taken seriously, with Cyber Essentials certification in place to protect customer and business information.

Accreditations, memberships and standards

Daltons holds a range of recognised accreditations and memberships that reflect our commitment to quality, safety, responsibility and professional standards.

These accreditations support our work across manufacturing, education, public sector and regulated industries, and are regularly reviewed and maintained.

  • Providing LEV testing to support healthier working environments
