SCM Profiset 40

The SCM Profiset 40 four sided planer is a popular addition to workshops looking to free up bottlenecks in the production of planed timber. The machine offers finished section capacity of 180 x 105 mm supported with a 1700 mm infeed straightening table and fed with variable speed drive between 6 – 12 m/min. Limited profiling is achievable on the vertical spindles (without axial stroke adjustment) for up to 10 mm capacity.

As can be expected from all SCM machinery, the Profiset 40 features robust build quality with heavy ribbed sectioned steel base and cast iron tables minimising vibration and ensuring consistent performance.

Setting is simple. Using mechanical digital readouts on the front of the machine, width and thickness adjustments can be quickly made. Pressures placed in front and behind the top horizontal spindle are simultaneously adjustable with the spindle and feed rollers, while the left vertical spindle with infeed pressure and outfeed fence are simultaneously adjustable.

For added efficiency, consider the SCM Profiset 40EP model with “READY” electronic control. This system provides powered automatic control over the width (near side vertical spindle) and thickness (top horizontal spindle) setting as well as feed speed. Once set, the parameters can be saved for quick recall of repeat jobs.

As standard no tooling is supplied with the machine, giving you the choice of either 2 or 3 knife HSS conventional cutter block sets complete with edge reference discs. We also offer TERSA and spiral insert block alternatives – contact a member of our team for more information.
