  The Wadkin Graduate Variturn is a premium, heavy-duty woodturning lathe, designed for precision, versatility and long-term reliability in professional workshops and educational environments. Manufactured in the UK, the Variturn builds on the legacy of the iconic Graduate lathe, combining traditional engineering with modern variable speed control.

  Constructed from heavy-duty cast iron, the machine delivers excellent stability and vibration-free performance, essential for achieving high-quality turning results. The infinitely variable speed range (300–2400 rpm) allows operators to precisely match spindle speed to the workpiece, improving control, finish quality and safety.

  As highlighted in the original literature, the Variturn is designed for both professional and educational use, featuring modern controls and a digital spindle speed readout, along with a spindle indexing system for added versatility .

  With generous capacity between centres and a robust build, the Graduate Variturn is ideal for a wide range of turning applications, from spindle work to larger diameter projects.
